EdQuest: AI-Powered Quiz Learning Platform
Designing an intuitive and engaging web application for teachers and students to create and take quizzes enhanced with AI

Edquest is a web application designed to support teachers directly in the classroom. It enables AI-powered quiz generation for students, based on the PDF content studied during lessons.

Product vision and concept
The project started from a simple idea: gamify the classroom experience by generating quizzes from course materials, while inserting short game sessions between questions to keep students engaged and focused.
The first step was the creation of a clear and structured specification document, aligned with the client’s needs. To ensure maximum accessibility, we chose to build the platform entirely for the web, taking technical constraints into account from the very beginning.
We designed a simple and intuitive question creation system supporting four types of questions:
- MCQ (multiple choice questions)
- True or False
- Categories (sorting elements into groups)
- Reorder (placing elements back in the correct order)
A strong emphasis was placed on extensibility, allowing questions to be interspersed with game sessions and freely positioned throughout a quiz.
Teacher and student experience
A complete group system was developed, enabling teachers to create classes, manage students, and access class-wide metrics and statistics. Teachers can also schedule evaluation sessions that require student authentication, making it possible to track results and export data to grading tools such as Aurion.
To reduce friction for students, the classic quiz mode allows participation as a guest, without requiring account creation. Teachers still retain full control and can enforce authentication when needed.
Teachers have access to advanced account management features, including:
- Two-factor authentication
- Email and username management
- Subscription handling via a direct Stripe API integration
On the student side, personalization plays a key role. Each player can choose an avatar and a skin from a wide range of custom assets created specifically for the project.
Technical architecture
To handle a large number of concurrent users, we deployed a fully serverless architecture on Google Cloud (GCP), enabling automatic scaling during peak usage. We did a lot of unit-testing covering around 60% of important code functions.
Authentication relies on OAuth 2.0 with Google, combined with captcha verification and JWT-based authentication, ensuring a secure system aligned with modern standards.
Game sessions are powered by WebSockets, enabling real-time answer validation and live feedback for both students and teachers through a synchronized, step-based flow.
Design and development process at No Scope
The project followed an iterative development approach. We first built a POC to validate the concept and our architectural decisions, then pushed our UI and UX vision further once the foundation was validated.
This phase was reinforced by testing sessions with external users, which helped identify interface weaknesses and justified the redesign of several key areas. After finalizing the mockups, the development team integrated the new designs, added animations and transition effects, and improved overall performance and game fluidity.
Several days were dedicated to game design, with close collaboration between game designers and developers. This resulted in the creation of the first game, Blizzard, a battle royale experience built around survival mechanics and player cooperation.

Deployment and operations
Once the application was completed, the team focused on deployment to Google Cloud, setting up a continuous deployment pipeline that allows rapid updates and faster responses to production issues.
We also integrated external services such as Zendesk to support customer ticketing and long-term user support.
Why work with No Scope
Within 4 month we delivered a fully functionnal POC, and 4 month later we had built an qualitative and production-ready application capable of hosting thousand of students and professor.
Throughout the project lifecycle, from initial specifications to final deployment, we worked closely with our client to fully understand their needs and transform their vision into a concrete, scalable and functional product.
